چکیده

Abstract Sarcopenia, characterized by reduced muscle mass and fiber number leading to muscular atrophy, has been associated with serious socioeconomic challenges among the elderly in developed countries. Therefore, preventing sarcopenia could be a promising strategy for achieving healthy aging society. Nutmeg ( Myristica fragrans ) used as spice increase flavor prevent putrefaction of food. contains various bioactive components that improve activity. To determine potential effect lignan-enriched nutmeg extract (LNX) on sarcopenia, LNX (100 mg/kg body weight)-fed aged mice were subjected forced exercise. Herein, (22-month-old) fed three weeks exhibited shortened thickened soleus muscle. The ratio (%) weight was significantly increased LNX-fed mice. relative improved exercise activities, including rotarod, swimming, grip strength test results. Proteome profiles analyze protein–protein interaction network. Several myosin heavy chain isoforms found interact actin, ACTA1, which functions hub protein. Furthermore, expression myogenic proteins, such MYH1, MYH4, dose-dependently vivo. In result, our functional proteomic analysis revealed feeding restored proteins

Differential skeletal muscle proteome of high- and low-active mice.

Physical inactivity contributes to cardiovascular disease, type II diabetes, obesity, and some types of cancer. While the literature is clear that there is genetic regulation of physical activity with existing gene knockout data suggesting that skeletal muscle mechanisms contribute to the regulation of activity, actual differences in end-protein expression between high- and low-active mice have...

Phosphoproteomic analysis of aged skeletal muscle.

One of the most important post-translational modifications is represented by phosphorylation on tyrosine, threonine and serine residues. Since abnormal phosphorylation is associated with various pathologies, it was of interest to perform a phosphoproteomic profiling of age-related skeletal muscle degeneration. We used the fluorescent phospho-specific Pro-Q Diamond dye to determine whether chang...

Proteomic DIGE analysis of the mitochondria-enriched fraction from aged rat skeletal muscle.

Skeletal muscle aging is associated with a loss in tissue mass and contractile strength, as well as fiber type shifting and bioenergetic adaptation processes. Since mitochondria represent the primary site for energy generation via oxidative phosphorylation, we investigated potential changes in the expression pattern of the mitochondrial proteome using the highly sensitive DIGE approach. The com...

Oxidative proteome alterations during skeletal muscle ageing

Sarcopenia corresponds to the degenerative loss of skeletal muscle mass, quality, and strength associated with ageing and leads to a progressive impairment of mobility and quality of life. However, the cellular and molecular mechanisms involved in this process are not completely understood. A hallmark of cellular and tissular ageing is the accumulation of oxidatively modified (carbonylated) pro...
